Pedal Britain is an independent tour operator with focus on creating memorable experiences for their customers. Pedal Britain approached The Travel Web Deign Agency due to our involvement with another client of ours which uses our powerful tour management system.

The existing website had sufficed for the last two years but Pedal Britain owner, Darren Ball, has ambitious plans to grow the business and move away from LEJOG only cycling tours and expand across to other parts ok the United Kingdom and Europe. This requires a more powerful and automated system that will allow Darren to do what he does best, planning, creating and delivering memorable tours.The previous website had a top to bottom approach where you would find everything the website has to offer on a single page. Statistically, on websites like this users will only scroll down about 60% of the page before making their decision. This means they will miss important information, especially for a company with so much to offer.

We researched the companies target audience, had a look at existing data and decided on the best user journey for this project. This way, we can funnel users to the tour pages giving them confidence in either booking or picking up the phone and serve the correct information when it needs to be served. It's also important to always give 'choice' in these key areas so that users don't feel pushed into placing a booking. By offering choice it helps users explore and spend longer on the website. Tours like this need to be carefully planned and considered. Offering related tours, easy to access FAQ's, brochure downloads and direct links to important contact information helps build trust.

The website features a bespoke design where our client provided good and detailed feedback. The website features our powerful tour management system which is integrated into a payment gateway and the clients invoicing system to automate the process for him. The booking page itself has more automated features not only making automating the process for the owner but for their customers too.

The tour management system allows you to add areas (Scotland) and within in those areas you can have multiple tours, for example a 3 and 5 day tours. You can set features for each tour and number of places left. However, this is only scratching the surface.
